Fitness

My mom gave me a Fitness Magazine. I love to read magazines from start to finish. I saw this contest in this magazine on how to win a car. Called The Face of Fitness. Fun I thought. I am entering this and I am going to tell Jamie to enter also. So I entered it and a week later the voting started.I asked all my Facebook friends to vote for me and very unexpectedly before voting started but after I had entered Patrick was in a car accident, a roll over, our car that has been paid off for years and has been a good car is now a total loss.
I think it would have been so awesome to have won this contest to replace the car. My mom always say you can not win if you do not play. It was fun to enter the contest and asked people to vote for me. I enjoyed checking on my place I was in. I fell behind for only a day then people upped and I moved forward. It was so exciting. In  final I took 25th place. You know that not too bad if compared to some of the healthy women that entered the contest. They are awesome and inspiring. I enjoyed reading the different contestants entries as well. Here is mine below.

5K in love

Submitted by: Jennie
In 2011 my sister introduced me to 5K races. After walking my first race I fell in love. I love to sign up and do the races. It gives me motivation to continue to stay fit and healthy. I have recently been getting my friend and their friends to join me by signing up for races that are a little different like the mud runs and color runs. I enjoy them all large, small, dirty or clean just getting together with a bunch of people who are working toward a goal in being fit is so much fun for me. I have just finished 2 races for great causes I did the Save-a-sister and the Big Brother Big Sister races. My next race is in 2 weeks I have been able to get a team together of 16 people of varied fitness levels we have walkers all they way to avid runners. It is going to be so much fun. 5ks are about getting together and fitness not winning for me.

Rocket Ship

Gabriel and Foster are obsessed with rocket ships. They play with one at their Nana and Papas house. It is a water toy. Because of their obsession Patrick decided he wanted to buy them the real ones from the hobby store. The model rocket. Patrick stayed up all night putting the little model rockets together. We really lucked out because the next day the weather was perfect for launching rockets.
At first Gabriel was excited but when it is launched the sound it makes kinda scared him.
We counted down from 10 to 1 and the boys loved that. When Patrick was setting up the last one to launch Gabriel was saying I am not afraid, I am not afraid. silly little boy.

Foster just loved every min of it. He even was way excited when Patrick said he could push the button for launch.

3rd NICU Reunion

I have to say that when my boys were born at 28.5 weeks I was strangely relieved. I had a hard time getting pregnant and when I finally did through IVF I bleed through most of my 6 month long pregnancy. Gabriel's water broke. I went in and delivered 6 hours later. Foster was born via c-section 14 min after Gabriel. We were lucky enough that our town has a NICU and in it we have some of THE best Doctors and Nurses. The team was and still is outstanding.
They throw a reunion every year for their graduates to come to, so that they can see their progression into normal life after such a difficult start in this world.
We are the lucky ones. My boys were strong right off the bat. Only minor set backs. Today you would never even know they were early. They are healthy, strong, smart, and very active little boys.
I am forever grateful for the NICU staff. We go to the reunion every year so that we can express our gratitude for what they did for us.

This year we only got a picture with the Doctor who helped save my boys life from the beginning. The rest was from the fun activities they have for them to participate in.
Dr. Ridout and a very Thankful Family.

Dixie Mud Run

Ok so I need to post on all the races that I do. I love them. They give me that high you get around the holidays. You know the one.You are just in a good mood and you know it is because it is the season. Well that is it for me I feel that way before a race. The race would be like Christmas day for most. But for me I would compare it to Thanksgiving. ( That is my favorite holiday) the thing is is when the race is over it is like after the holidays. You know the excitement is gone and it is time to get back to reality. So race and planning=holiday high. Day after race=January or post holiday blues. So I keep my eyes open for races  to do.

I am not an avid runner. It really is about the day of the race for me. I am working on being more consistent with running. I have goals one is to run with out having to take a walk break. When I reach that one I will then choose another goal.

I am thinking how many 5k I have done. I am not sure I think it is 13 now. I decided to do a mud run Oh that was so fun and challenging. It was better than Thanksgiving. So I got another team together for the Dixie MUD Run. This run was not quite a 5k but it was soooooo fun.

There were obstacles, There was MUD there was water and the very best thing huge slip-and-slides. I can not wait for the next one.

The Dixie Mud Run supports children with medical needs.

Monkey Bars! HARD!

Jamie doing push-ups she could not finish the Monkey bars.

Slip and slide #3

Mom coming in.

Team Chocolate Chicks. Penny, Heidi, Connie, Kacie, Mom, Janet, Me Tammy, and Jamie

Cute boys

Oh  my! I need to be better at this blogging thing. I have so many things that have been happening that are worth writing down.
Of course my Cute Boys are always worth writing about they are THE best thing that has happened to Patrick and I. I love them both so dearly.
I never realized how challenging life would be with children but, I do have to say every bit of it is SO worth it.

Cute Boys
Oooh how cute I thought they were when they got into my favorite expensive eyeshadow. Not only was it a total loss but it was all over the floor and all over both of them. I was so mad at the time, but now that I am over it look how CUTE they were.
Gabriel watches me put makeup on so he knows were it goes on the eyes!

They were both so proud.

Look at Foster. He knows how to get him a bath.

caught red sparkly handed.

Ya he was proud.
Gabriel loves to play bowling on the Kindle. He decided to set up his own set with drink cups and a basket ball. Creative little man. Look at them playing they are cute boys. If they miss they say whaa whah wah.

#2

Today has been a good day. Patrick had the day off of work. We did not have big plans his Dad came over to help us put up a fence around the back yard.
When I put my boys down for a nap Patrick made the comment that it sounds like the boys are saying YUCKY and giggling. Sure enough it was YUCKY! and that is an under statement. Gabriel had pooped in his underwear and had been finger painting on the very textured wall.
Ya that was a fun thing to find. I got him up and into the bathroom to get him cleaned up. I put him in the shower (he hates to shower) I explained that he has to shower because it is YUCKY to paint with poo. It took a good half hour to get it all cleaned up before I could get him down for a nap. I do have to say I wish I could figure out how to get my boys to poo in the toilet. otherwise they are potty trained.
I guess this goes in to the story book of poo like Jamie's Madison finger painting poo in the top shelf of her very tall closet. AS well as Madison and Jordan running around the house throwing poo at each other. Some times little kids are so gross.

good advice

Yesterday we went to the pet store to get some supplies to clean our fish tank we got last month for the boys. When we were leaving this very kind old mad gave some good advice. He said to cherish the moments the boys are young. What matters are the memories in your heart. He also recommended that I journal at least 5 sentences per day and those will bring back the memories for that entire day. He said I know we are strangers but I do it and it works. He was very kind with good advice. Because of him and talking about journals it reminded me how my Grandpa Kimball use to journal. I remember him writing in his black day timer when we would go visit. Thanks to that old man I got to have a memory brought up about my Grandpa and his love.
